Amber's Banana Bread *Amber Allen 1/2 Cup Softened butter 1/2 Cup Shortening 4 Eggs 4 Ripe Bananas, smashed 1 Cup Apple sauce 4 Cups Flour 2 tsp Baking Soda 1 tsp Salt 2 Cups Milk 2 Cups Chocolate Chips Blend Shortening and sugar together. Add Eggs and beat. Mix in bananas and apple sauce. Add dry ingredients alternating with milk. Add Chocolate Chips and mix. Pour into 12" Dutch Oven and bake 350 for 1 hour. Corn Bread *Jodie Jamison 1 c corn meal 1 ½ c flour ½ c oil 1 ½ c sugar ½ c dry pwd milk ½ tsp vanilla ½ tsp baking powder 2 eggs ¼ tsp salt 1 c milk Mix all ingredients together, put in lightly oiled Dutch oven. Bake 350 for 30 minutes Stan's Beer Bread 2nd Place Winner Recipe Contest 1st quarter 2008 *William Collins 2 c stone ground bread flour ½ tsp baking powder ¾ c sugar 1 c all-purpose flour ½ c honey 1 c oatmeal ½ tsp baking soda 1-8 oz can of beer Put oatmeal in blender blend into small pieces. In large bowl mix dry ingredient, then stir in honey and beer. Oil Dutch Oven Bake time 45 min. check with tooth pick to see if done. Use either 8 or 10 inch oven works well Honey Wheat Bread *Amber Allen 3 Cups Warm Water 1/2 Cup Oil 1/2 Cup Honey 1 1/2 Tbsp Yeast 2 Tsp. Salt 3 1/2 cups Wheat Flour (Approximately) 3 1/2 Cups White Flour (Approximately) Mix Water, honey and oil together. Add Yeast and let sit until started to dissolve. Add Salt and 2 cups flour. Mix then add Flour by cup full. Dough should be soft but not sticky. Let raise until double in size. Place dough in greased Dutch Oven, let raise again about 20 min. Bake 350 for 30 min.
